Objectifs

Student will study the bases of the of mixed-signal integrated circuits design by means of state-of-the-art commercial EDA tools. The main objectives are to practice all the design methodologies for implementing a complete mixed-signal system starting from circuit behavior and going toward layout and post layout evaluation.

Contenu

  • Introduction to:
    • Schematic and layout Editors (Cadence Virtuoso)
    • Circuits simulation (Cadence Spectre, Mentor Eldo)
    • VHDL Simulation (Mentor Modelsim)
    • VHDL Synthesis (Synopsys Design Compiler)
    • Placement and routing of standard cells (Cadence SOC Encounter)
    • Post layout verification (Cadence Assura, Mentor Calibre)
  • Realisation of a complete design of a mixed-mode integrated circuit:
    • Full custom analogue circuits design.
    • Standard cells based methodology for digital functions
